- Fortec Star FSCI-5100 Plus + Ultra (how can I update the codes?)
Visit here: http://www.ucascity.com and in the 'keys' area is a thread with the heading 'Fortec Star Keys-Zee TV included' - this has the keys for SBS on Optus C1 (called Aurora on this website) and ZeeTV on Asia Sat 3S. And there is heaps of others.
- Topfield TF5000PVR (is it possible to take the recorded programs and make them PC capable (mpeg) or DVD capable?)
Yes. The Topfield PVRs record as a .REC file. You use the USB lead on the TF5000PVR to transfer it to your PC. If you just want to play it, use mplayer (not windows media player, this is a lynix based but windows version player called 'mplayer'). It will not recognise it as an mpeg but it will play it. Download a free version by searching for it on google.
If you want to save it as an Mpeg or burn it as DVD then follow the instructions here:
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/DigiTV/pva2svcd.htm
To help you get started: You will need to use ProjectX first to convert it to a .PVA file. Then you follow the instructions from there.
